Superbloom at The Tower of London
Make a visit to the Tower of London this summer even more special by visiting their celebration of the Platinum Jubilee year of Her Majesty The Queen, "Superbloom".
For "Superbloom" over 20 million seeds have been sown in the moat of the Tower of London, which will develop and morph over the course of the summer, to create a beautiful, new naturalistic landscape. Designed to attract pollinators, 'Superbloom' will bring a wonderful natural beauty to this urban space and introduce a new biodiverse habitat for wildlife. It will celebrate the value of nature for our wellbeing.
Open from June to September, it will be an evolving display, moving from soft green hues in June to delicate whites, blues, pinks and oranges throughout the height of summer. You can enter the moat via a fully accessible visitor entrance. Once in the moat, you can choose to climb the stairs and slide down into the moat on the four lane Superbloom slide! (please note, the slide will not be open in wet or very hot weather). Prepare to spend around 30 minutes exploring a one way route along winding willow-lined paths set to a specially commissioned soundscape with sculptural elements along the way.
With a Superbloom + Tower of London ticket, you can meander your way around the moat and take in the magnificent colours of these plants. After you have completed your way around, your entry to the Tower of London is 1 hour after your booked Superbloom time slot. You are then free to explore the Tower of London and all it's splendour.
Treat the family to a fun and educational day at one of the UK's most visited attractions - the Tower of London! Home to the Crown Jewels, Yeoman Warders and the Tower ravens, the world's most famous fortress has served as a royal palace, prison, armoury, and even a zoo since its commission in 1066 by William the Conqueror.
Crown Jewels Exhibition includes a staggering 23,578 jewels with an estimated value of over £20 billion! Dazzling gems, many of which are still in use today, include the 105.6 carat Koh-i-Noor diamond, the Imperial State Crown worn by the monarch for the State Opening of Parliament, the Cullinan, and Coronation Regalia used for the coronation of Elizabeth II in 1953.
Yeoman Warders, affectionately known as Beefeaters, have guarded the Tower since Tudor times and are recognised as a symbol of Britain the world over, they are placed throughout the visitor route to tell tales of torture and intrigue. Join in a Yeoman Warder Tour, included with your ticket, to hear tales of torture, intrigue, treachery, imprisonment, execution and more, all delivered in the Yeomans' unique style!
The Tower Ravens are amongst the most famous sights at the Tower of London. Tradition states that that the kingdom and the Tower of London will fall if the six resident ravens leave the fortress. Today there are seven ravens at the Tower (six with one spare!) - Jubilee, Harris, Gripp, Rocky, Erin, Poppy and Merlina - who are cared for by the specially-appointed Ravenmaster. Task little ones with spotting the ravens who are free to roam within the Tower walls.
The Royal Beasts Exhibition tells the tale of the wild, exotic creatures held captive by kings and queens at the Tower for over 600 years. Learn more about their story from the fascinating interactive exhibit included with your ticket.
The Line of Kings is the world's longest-running visitor attraction. See impressive displays of royal arms and armour, life-sized figures of kings and wooden horses, Henry VIII's magnificent tournament armour, and more.
The White Tower- one of the most important castle keeps in the world and the oldest medieval building at the Tower of London - was designed to terrify both foreign invaders and miscreant Londoners alike! Join a White Tour, included with your ticket, to learn why the Tower was one of the most feared prisons in the land.
