Your ticket includes:
- One ride on Mail Rail (approx. 15 minutes)
- See the world's only sheets of Penny Black stamps
- Sort the mail on a mock-up train carriage with a wobbly floor
- Discover iconic posters from a 1930s design revolution
- Allow a minimum of 90 minutes for your visit, but we would recommend allowing 2-2.5hrs if you wish to explore all of the exhibitions
General Information
- Sorted! Postal Play Space (for kids 0-8) is not included. Tickets may be purchased on arrival.
- A downloadable audio guide may be purchased on arrival. Own device and headphones are required.
- You will ride Mail Rail first and there might be a short wait while you queue for your ride.
- Bags are not permitted on board the Mail Rail ride. Visitors will be asked to leave bags and other luggage in an unlocked, supervised cage at the ride embarkation point.
- The museum is located across 2 buildings, separated by a road. Your visit will start in the building called 'Mail Rail'.
- Visit the Exhibitions across the road after your ride. Exhibitions start to close from 16.45.
- Mail Rail is a miniature railway originally designed to carry post, not people. As such, it's not suitable for everyone and we're unfortunately unable to accommodate wheelchair users on the ride itself.
- All other areas of The Postal Museum provide step-free access
- There are a limited number of small lockers available on site
Booking and Ticket Information
- Please arrive 15 minutes before the entry time shown on your ticket. Failure to arrive by the time on your ticket may result in being unable to ride Mail Rail.
- Discount is based off of the on the day rate.
- Re-entry is permitted any time 1000-1630 on the date stated on the ticket.
- Tickets are only available 48 hours before your visit date.
- Tickets purchased through Picniq are not refundable. The date of the visit can be amended for a fee of £10 per booking. Terms and conditions apply.

Bus: 17, 19, 38, 45, 46, 55, 63, 341 stop near The Postal Museum.
Cycle: There is a cycle rack in the courtyard space. Visit the admissions desk to get the access code. There are also several Santander Cycle Hire docking stations nearby.
