There's something fascinating for families of all ages to enjoy at the multi-award winning London Transport Museum in London's Covent Garden. Explore the capital’s heritage, uncover the stories of those who have travelled and worked in London over the past 200 years, and see how technology is shaping the future.

Dedicated to preserving our unique transport heritage, the Museum's many galleries take visitors on a journey through time from the Victorian era when almost every vehicle in London was horse-drawn through to the digging of the first Underground tunnel. Explore the powerful link between transport and the growth of modern London since the 1800s. View sights like the world’s first underground steam train and the electric tube railway.

The vehicles on display at the London Transport Museum include an impressive collection of trolleybuses, trams, buses and trains from the 19th and 20th century, many of which visitors are free to explore inside and out!

Permanent and special exhibitions and displays highlight the people, their stories, the heritage and the future of London's transport through art and design, hands-on exhibits and displays of inspiring vehicles. The Untangling the Tracks exhibition shows how Thameslink programme designers tackled unravelling the complex track systems approaching one the UK's busiest stations.

See more than 100 poster artworks and explore the poster-making process in the exhibition How to Make a Poster. The exhibition is a visual exploration of poster commissioning and creativity in the pre-digital age from 1900.

There's plenty to keep children occupied, learning and engaged at the Museum. In addition to hands-on exhibits, miniature scenes, trails to follow, and the Future Engineers exhibit, there are two galleries purpose-built for little ones and a dedicated babies zone.

Children under 6 can climb aboard a train, bus, taxi or tube in the All Aboard! play zone. Here they can drive a real bus, use toy spanners to repair a mini Tube train, dress up in uniforms to become a riverboat captain, train driver or station announcer, and more! All Aboard! is also home to Baby DLR - the Museum's first dedicated area for babies.
