One of the most important WWII Royal Navy Warships has since 1971 established itself as a wonderfully popular museum, where the curious abound, to learn about her many stories and memories. Visitors can climb the ship's 9 decks, explore interactive galleries and experience first-hand the ship's history.
HMS Belfast has been the star of the Thames since 1971. Retellings of everything from the initial German bombing to the final days as a floating museum, HMS Belfast's story is one of heroism and duty.
HMS Belfast, Royal Navy warship built in 1936 and launched on St Patrick's Day 1938. Discover all her nooks and crannies across multiple decks, see her guns, and imagine life on board for her crew of over 700 men. You can also visit her many rooms and enjoy a guided tour of this historic vessel.
HMS Belfast is one of the last surviving examples of the World War II era. Explore the ship's history and discover personal stories of those who served on board, including Surgeon Lieutenant Robert Anthony Rowan, who saved many lives during the Korean War and former Belfast Captain, Rear-Admiral Sir Morgan Morgan-Giles.

General Information
- Audio guides are available from the admissions desk prior to boarding HMS Belfast and there is no charge to use this facility. The audio guides are available in English, French, Italian, German, Polish, Russian, Mandarin, Spanish and Dutch.
- The Stoker's Café, the onboard café is located where the ships' stokers used to eat and serves food and light refreshments.
- There is also a rooftop bar to enjoy a beverage with a great view.
- There are no cloakroom or locker facilities onboard HMS Belfast, therefore are unable to allow access to visitors with suitcases, pull-along baggage, or large holdalls.
- There is wheelchair access to the main deck of HMS Belfast but there is no access below deck due to the nature of the ship.
- You are welcome to take photos and video onboard.
Booking and Ticket Information
- Tickets are available to purchase online until 11.45pm the day before the visit.
- Children 4 and under are free of charge but do require a ticket.
