When you visit, you’ll enjoy an experience millions of years in the making. The breathtakingly beautiful caves, for which Wookey Hole is renowned takes you on an underground adventure. There is also plenty to do from vintage penny arcades to museums, adventure golf, a 4D cinema, and soft play to name but a few.

The fantastic Wookey Hole Circus creates and performs 3 shows per year, these are in the theatre at weekends and during school holidays. Prepare to be dazzled by super-talented performers!

The on-site restaurant serves a selection of homemade dishes, snacks, sandwiches and drinks. The large restaurant is open from 10.00 am daily and serves hot food from noon. The Ice Cream Parlour offers over 25 flavours of ice cream (including vegan and gluten-free options) along with snacks and drinks. Open daily during school holidays.

Important Information

Due to the number of steps and uneven surfaces small children need to be carried through the caves.
You are welcome to use your buggy everywhere else on site. Please note you are unable to leave any buggy at the cave entrance. There is a buggy store in the Ice Cream Parlour during busy periods and behind the Gift Shop when the Ice Cream Parlour is closed.
The cave tour lasts for approximately 35 minutes. During busy periods the Caves may be operated on a free flow system.
As the caves are naturally wet and the floor can be uneven in places, we recommend sensible footwear. We would not recommend flip flops, high heels or bare feet.
Discount is based on walk up rates.

Online bookings are limited to a maximum of 12 visitors.

Location and Directions: Wookey Hole is just 2 miles from Wells. Follow the brown signs on the main routes around the city centre. If you are coming from Bath (A39), Bristol (A37), or Weston Super Mare (A371), we are only 20 miles away. If you are arriving via M5, take the Junction 22 exit and follow the brown signs.

For the easiest route, we recommend following the brown tourist signs into Wells, as this will provide the most direct route and avoid country lanes and smartphone/GPS blackspots. If you are using SatNav, enter the postcode BA5 1BA (best used after arriving in Wells).

Parking: There is a large, free car park for visitors.
