Watermouth Castle is a day out like no other… with both an enchanting castle and an exciting theme park to explore! Families of all ages will find an activity to enjoy here, with everything from Victorian educational activities, to thrilling rides. All of this as well as a stunning view as you look out over Watermouth Cove and take in the scenery. You can even take a walk around the ground and explore the castle’s Victorian gardens set along Devon’s iconic coastline.
The castle itself is a historic adventure through the Victorian times with lots to discover. Take in the architecture and enjoy the views from the battlements, or head inside and explore the curiosity museum or the Dungeons if you’re brave enough!
On a nice day the theme park will provide endless fun for the whole family, with exciting rides such as the Toboggan Run or the Steam Carousel! If rides aren’t you’re thing then there’s plenty more to enjoy outside! Get lost in the enchanting hedge maze or challenge the family to a round of crazy golf before taking a stroll through the gardens .

FAIRY MUSEUM
Discover the enchanting history of Watermouth Castle. Unveiling the magic of fairies, pixies, and wonders in Devon. Immerse yourself in a kaleidoscope of leaves, crystals, and mirrors. Explore exhibits on fairy clans, mystical herbs, and intricate miniatures, including real fairy huts. Uncover the tale of Professor P. Penderford and Edith, the castle's peculiar inhabitants. Set within a magical environment, the museum opens later in 2024.

General Information
- There is a large cark park on site, and all parking is free.
- Dogs are welcome but should be kept on leads at all times. Certain areas of the attraction are not suitable for dogs.
- All children under the age of 18 must be supervised at all times whilst on-site at the Castle
- There are two cafes and picnic areas on the site.
- Pushchairs are permitted throughout the site, except for inside the Castle due to fire regulations.
- The natural topology and structure of the grounds means only a small portion of the site is suitable for those with impaired mobility.
- The Toboggan ride costs an additional fee - £1.50 for per ride
- Height restrictions apply for some rides.
- Arcade Machines - Should you want to play the antique arcade coin operated machines, please bring cash with you on your visit. Please ensure that children are supervised so that the correct coins are used to protect the delicate structures inside the antique machines.
Booking and Ticket Information
- When you buy online you will receive an email containing your ticket. Please present on your smart phone on arrival on the day of your visit.
- Saving based off walk up rate and potential booking fees.
- Picniq accept all debit cards, Maestro, Visa and Mastercard as methods of payment. There is no credit card charge or booking fee.
- Online bookings are limited to a maximum of 12 visitors.
- Tickets purchased through Picniq are not refundable. The date of the visit can be amended for a fee of £10 per booking. Terms and conditions apply.

Watermouth Castle is situated on the main A399 coast road midway between Ilfracombe and Combe Martin (sat nav reference: EX34 9SL). From Barnstaple take the B3230 to Ilfracombe then continue on the A399 towards Combe Martin, Watermouth Castle is on the right hand side. Approximately 3 miles from Ilfracombe.
There is a large cark park on site, and all parking is free.
Rail: The nearest railway station is Barnstaple, there is no direct bus you have to go to Ilfracombe Bus Station and change for Combe Martin or take a taxi.
