The Imperial War Museum (IWM) Duxford sits on the original site of RAF Duxford. With exhibits from the dawn of aviation history to today, a living museum where you can learn about the fascinating history of flight.
IWM Duxford presents interactive exhibitions, dynamic talks and family entertainment for all ages and is home to the world's largest collection of historic aircraft and ground vehicles. From Spitfires, Mustangs and Messerschmitts to tanks, half-tracks and the latest military hardware, the museum tells the story of aviation combat and its ever-changing face over the last 100 years.
Excitedly explore the site and discover more about life in wartime with an extensive indoor exhibition, including a walk-through of a wartime street, a Churchill showroom, air raid shelter and much more. The outdoor site is equally as impressive, with an original Lancaster bomber on view and Spitfires occasionally flying overhead.
Interactive exhibits will keep you entertained for hours, and the café will keep you well-fed and refreshed. Imperial War Museum Duxford is much more than just an aviation museum.
We recommend putting aside at least half a day to truly immerse yourself, however, many visitors end up spending the entire day learning and deep diving into the past.

- Please be aware that there are no cash machines on site. All our cafés, shops and ticketing desks accept card payments. Our flight simulator requires cash.
- There are a range of options for eating and drinking during your visit to Duxford. The Armoury Café, The American Café and the Workshop Restaurant.
- You are welcome to take photos and video.
- Wheelchairs and mobility scooters are available for loan, free of charge.
Booking and Ticket Information
- Tickets are available to purchase online until 11.45pm the day before the visit.
- Children 4 and under are free of charge but do require a ticket.
- Picniq accept all debit cards, Maestro, Visa and Mastercard as methods of payment. There is no credit card charge or booking fee.
- Tickets purchased through Picniq are not refundable. The date of the visit can be amended for a fee of £10 per booking. Terms and conditions apply.

By Car: IWM Duxford is south of Cambridge at Junction 10 of the M11 motorway, less than 50 miles from Central London and approximately 40 minutes from the M25 (Junction 27).
IWM Duxford is easily accessible from the A1, A14, M1 and the North, via the M11. There is free parking for customers of IWM Duxford (with the exception of special event days).
By Bus:
Monday to Saturday - The 7A bus from Trumpington Park and Ride stops at IWM Duxford and Whittlesford Parkway Station.
Sunday - There is a direct Myalls 132 bus service from Cambridge Station to IWM Duxford.
