Visit the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh - the official royal residence in Scotland since the 16th century and a must-see on the Royal Mile. Wander through the splendid State Apartments, where opulent plaster‑work ceilings, Brussels tapestries and priceless artworks set a regal scene. Stand in the Great Gallery which once hosted grand balls, and step into the lived‑in world of Mary, Queen of Scots exploring the very rooms where dramatic history unfolded. Don’t miss the evocative Holyrood Abbey ruins and the tranquil Palace Gardens, framed by the iconic rise of Arthur’s Seat.
Perfect for families and history lovers alike, your entry ticket includes an engaging multilingual audio/interactive audio tour, guiding you through centuries of Scottish heritage. Tuck into locally‑sourced treats in the Palace café, and enjoy spacious grounds ideal for a post‑visit stroll. Open most Thursdays to Mondays year‑round (daily in summer months), with last entry mid‑afternoon, the palace welcomes you into the heart of royal Scotland. Under‑5s go free and there’s wheelchair access throughout. Located just 15 minutes’ walk from Edinburgh Waverley, and served by bus routes 6 and Skylink 300, it’s the perfect blend of grandeur, history and accessibility.
