On selected dates, Edinburgh Zoo will be hosting celebration days with themed talks, pop-up engagement activities and crafts relating to different zoo topics! Saturday 28th June – Colours in Nature for Pride, Monday 14th July – All about the Chimps and Research, Monday 21st July – Enrichment for the animals, Friday 1st August – Conservation, Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th September – Australian Animal Weekender. 

On Friday 4th July, enjoy Dinosaur Day with dinosaur tours, a variety of fossils to engage with, dinosaur-themed games and crafts for the whole family to enjoy!

On Saturday 13th September, PAW Patrol pups Chase and Skye will be taking a break from Adventure Bay to visit Edinburgh Zoo.

Go on a wildlife adventure like no other at Edinburgh Zoo, with 82 acres of stunning parkland and over 2,500 incredible animals to discover! You’ll encounter big cats (including tigers that walk right over your head in a glass viewing tunnel!), adorable penguins, giraffes, sloths, and 1000’s more rare and endangered species including the Blue Poison Dart Frog, and the only Queensland koalas in the UK! Edinburgh Zoo is also home to the famous Haggis the pygmy hippo! Plus, enjoy daily talks and demonstrations bringing you closer than ever to your favourite species.

Edinburgh Zoo is a gateway to discovering the beauty of the natural world, where you can experience nature and learn all about the challenges these species face and how they are working as a wildlife conservation charity.

When you arrive, grab a park map and set off on an adventure with the whole family! There’s so much to see and do, so everyone is guaranteed an incredible day out with amazing animal encounters and lots of educational fun. After a long day of exploring the wild, head to one of the two restaurants for a meal fit for the king of the jungle! There are also several kiosks dotted around for snacks on-the-go.

No matter the weather, Edinburgh Zoo is the ultimate family adventure with something for everyone. Don’t miss a stop at one of the kids play areas where they can run wild! Plus, the gift shop is where you’ll find a selection of amazing gifts and souvenirs.
