From 12th April Alton Towers Resort will be open!
Alton Towers will reopen with significantly reduced numbers so it is essential that you book in advance. A range of health and safety measures have been put in place to ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable visit. This includes a temperature check upon arrival.
The majority of the theme park will be open, including the majority of rides and outdoor attractions, although some indoor facilities will remain closed for now. Social distancing measures will be in place around the park, including the way guests are seated on rides.
All guests must wear a face mask/covering around the theme park.
With over 40 rides and attractions from adrenaline-pumping coasters to family-fun rides, there's something exciting for everyone to enjoy at Alton Towers Resort - the UK's biggest theme park!
Thrill Seekers
Get spun, soaked, corkscrewed and dropped from great heights on thrill rides that'll leave you breathless! Ride the inverted twists and turns of Nemesis, plummet at terrifying speeds on Oblivion and and brave the World's First 14 Loop Rollercoaster; 'The Smiler'. Brace for serious g-forces as Rita shoots you to 100mph in just 2.5 seconds or test your nerve on TH13TEEN, the world's first freefall drop 'psycoaster'. And don't miss new Wicker Man, the world's most immersive rollercoaster experience and the UK's first new wooden coaster in 20 years!
Family Fun
Thrill-seekers don't get all the fun at Alton Towers Resort with loads of younger family-fun rides including Duel, the haunted house that strikes back, the twisty-turny Runaway Mine Train and Cuckoo Cars, the hottest wheels around. Set sail on the shark-infested waters of Battle Galleons, get soaked on the Congo River Rapids, discover Sharkbait Reef by SEA LIFE.
Younger Fun
Little visitors of 2-6 now have their own one-of-a-kind land to explore at Alton Towers. CBeebies Land is a safe and exciting environment to learn, play and have endless fun with rides, live experiences, immersive play, character appearances and more. Pre-schoolers can ride their first coaster with Captain Barnacles on the Octonauts Rollercoaster Adventure, practice problem-solving skills on an interactive drive through Greendale with Postman Pat and much, much more! ! Hop on the new Peter Rabbit Hippity Hop ride with cheeky Peter Rabbit and his friend Benjamin, and join Tinky-Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po in Teletubbyland for their fun twice-daily performance in the Teletubbies Big Band Live Show!

- Entry to Alton Towers Resort, including Cbeebies Land for younger visitors to enjoy!
Entry to the new Alton Towers Dungeon is not included in the price of your general admission ticket.
Children under 3 enter free.
Visitors 12 years and over require an adult ticket.
Height restrictions apply to most rides.
Accessibility:
- A ticket-holding disabled guest can be issued a free carer ticket upon presentation of relevant documentation.
- All areas of the Alton Towers theme park are accessible to wheelchair users.
- Wheelchairs are available for hire on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Wheelchair accessible restrooms are available through the resort.
Baby Facilities
- Pushchairs are available for hire.
- All toilets include a baby changing area. Private changing and feeding rooms are also available.
- High chairs, baby food and microwaves are available in various cafes and restaurants in the theme park.
There are cafes, snack bars, restaurants, shops and plenty of picnic areas throughout the theme park.
Additional services include locker hire, cash machines and on-site medical services.
When you buy online you will receive an email containing your ticket. Please print your ticket and present it at Alton Towers Resort on the day of your visit.
All-day car parking is available at £6 per car.
Tickets are available to purchase online up to 11.45pm the day before the intended visit.
Picniq accepts all debit cards, Maestro, Visa and Mastercard as methods of payment. There is no credit card charge or booking fee.
Tickets purchased through Picniq are not refundable. The date of the visit can be amended for a fee of £10. Terms and conditions apply.

Train stations closest to Alton Towers Resort are Stoke-on-Trent, Derby and Uttoxeter.
If you are travelling by car, the resort is between the M1 and the M6.
Alton Towers Resort is open from March to November but may be closed on selected dates during that time. Please check with the Resort before the day of your intended visit.
The Resort may open at other times of the year for special events.
Gates open at 10am and close at either 4pm, 5pm or 6pm depending on the season. Closing times may vary at weekends.
